Acadia University, public, coeducational institution in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada, 78 km (49 mi) northwest of Halifax. The school was founded in 1838. The university confers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in a wide range of fields. It offers courses of study in the liberal arts, the arts and sciences, the fine arts, performing arts, business administration and management, computer science, biblical studies, theological studies, education, law, health sciences, physical sciences, environmental sciences, wildlife biology, and public affairs and policy studies.
