Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park

Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, national historical park designated in 1980, originally a national historic site authorized in 1969. Located in the central Texas towns of Johnson City and Stonewall, the park commemorates the life of United States president Lyndon Baines Johnson (1963-1969). Johnson City, named after the president’s ancestors, is the site of the Johnson Settlement, where Johnson’s grandfather and great-uncle established a cattle ranch in the 1860s. The park includes historic structures associated with cattle ranching. The Johnson Boyhood Home, where Johnson lived between 1913 and 1925, is also located in Johnson City and features 1920s furniture and Johnson family items.

Stonewall, Texas, where Johnson lived for more than 20 years, is the site of the LBJ Ranch, also known as the Texas White House. The ranch features a replica of the farmhouse in which Johnson was born and is furnished with original family items. The family cemetery and Johnson’s grave are located on the ranch.
