Khafre

Khafre, in Greek, Chephren, fourth king (2520-2494 bc) of the 4th Dynasty of Egypt. He built one of the pyramids of Giza; the Great Sphinx nearby was long believed to be a likeness of the king. Khafre was succeeded by his son Menkaure (Mycerinus; reigned 2490-2472 bc).
