Aconcagua

Aconcagua, highest peak in the western hemisphere, located in the Andes Mountains of western Argentina, near the border with Chile. An extinct volcano, it is 6,960 m (22,834 ft) high. The first ascent to the summit was made in 1897 by the Swiss mountaineer Matthias Zurbriggen.
