Caesar’s De bello Gallico

Caesar’s De bello Gallico
Roman general Julius Caesar wrote accounts of his military campaigns in Gaul, known as De bello Gallico (The Gallic Wars). The accounts are admired for their clarity of expression. This 12th-century manuscript of De bello Gallico belonged to an Italian humanist during the Renaissance. The rediscovery of classical antiquity, including the writings of its authors, was a fundamental part of the Renaissance.
