The Sorbonne, Latin Quarter of Paris
Students cross the courtyard of the Sorbonne, one of the Universities of Paris. The Sorbonne was founded in the 13th century and has been the center of a vibrant academic community on the Left Bank of the Seine ever since. The Parisian neighborhood around the Sorbonne is known as the Latin Quarter, named after the former official language of learning.
