| Agamemnon was the first play of a trilogy known as the Oresteia by Greek playwright Aeschylus. The trilogy dealt with a curse on the house of Atreus, which descended to Agamemnon, the son of Atreus. This so-called mask of Agamemnon actually dates to an earlier period than that of the Mycenaean king Agamemnon. | ||||||
