Costumes from Cats
The musical Cats (London, 1981; New York, 1982), created by British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and directed by Trevor Nunn, is an almost plotless story about a group of cats in a junkyard. Lloyd Webber based his production on a book of poetry that poet T. S. Eliot wrote for children, Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats (1939).
