Captain James Cook’s Map of New Zealand

Captain James Cook’s Map of New Zealand
British explorer Captain James Cook mapped much of the Pacific Ocean during his three voyages of exploration to present-day New Zealand, Australia, the South Pacific Islands, the Antarctic region, and the North Pacific. Shown here is a map of New Zealand drawn by Cook after he circumnavigated it during his first Pacific voyage (1768-1771).
