A cobblestone road leads to the entrance of the Palace of Fontainebleau, near Paris, formerly a royal residence for French kings. Francis I gathered together a large group of artists, referred to as the School of Fontainebleau, to refurbish the 13th-century chateau, which is now a public museum.
