Hans Christian Andersen’s Little Mermaid

Hans Christian Andersen was a 19th-century Danish writer best known for his many fairy tales, which are considered classics of children's literature. In 1837 he wrote “The Little Mermaid.” The city of Copenhagen, where Andersen lived, erected this statue of a little mermaid in honor of Andersen and his stories.
