The Grand Palace, Bangkok

The Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand, is a compound of several royal buildings. The palace is largely used for ceremonial purposes, but thousands of tourists visit it each year. Shown here is the Wat Phra Kaeo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), the only area of the palace grounds that members of the public can enter. The Wat Phra Kaeo itself is made up of several buildings.
