| Union Station in Washington, D.C., was designed by Chicago architect Daniel Burnham. It opened in 1907 as a magnificent gateway to the United States capital. The station was extensively renovated from 1986 to 1988 through a public/private partnership. The station still provides passenger train service and now features offices, stores, and restaurants. | ||||||
