Quechua
The Quechua-speaking peoples of the Andes Mountains live in hundreds of villages stretching from Ecuador through Peru and into Bolivia. Quechuan tribal ancestors constituted the ruling class of the Inca Empire which ruled over large portions of South America in the 15th century. The language was originally spoken by one group of people located along the northern coast of present-day Peru.
