American actor Paul Newman had his first starring motion-picture role in Somebody Up There Likes Me (1956), portraying boxer Rocky Graziano. He went on to receive acclaim for his performances in films such as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958), The Hustler (1961), The Sting (1973), and The Color of Money, (1986).
