Tipi Housing
The tipi (or tepee), a portable, tentlike structure, was popular with nomadic Native American tribes because it could be dismantled and reassembled when they migrated. Animal hides were stretched around a framework of poles to create a cone-shaped enclosure with a chimney opening at the top. A flap served as the door, and animal skins were used for insulation on the floor.
