Mixing a Recording
While musicians perform into a microphone, a recording engineer sits at a mixing board, where individual tracks of the performance are combined and edited into a single recording. The many switches on a mixer control different portions of a recording, such as drums, bass, piano, and vocals. Different selections can be added, subtracted, or changed by the engineer.
