Korean War

The Korean War erupted in June 1950 when North Korea invaded South Korea. By early 1951, both sides had lost and gained nearly the entire Korea Peninsula—only to end up where they began at the 38th parallel. The fighting ended in 1953 with an armistice agreement that South Korea refused to sign.
