Harvesting Tulips
Dutch farmers carefully harvest their spring crop of tulips. Tulips, native to Asia, were introduced to The Netherlands about the turn of the 17th century. Speculative trading soon pushed the value of bulbs to spectacular levels. Prices are no longer exorbitant, but cut flowers and bulbs are still a leading Dutch export.
