English artist Sir John Tenniel illustrated the original Alice in Wonderland, a classic children’s book written by English author Lewis Carroll in 1865. This illustration shows Alice at a tea party hosted by the Mad Hatter and the March Hare; the fourth guest is the Dormouse. Tenniel also illustrated Carroll’s Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There (1872).
