Part of Hopi religious practice is to make connections with spirit beings, or kachinas. During Hopi festivals and ceremonies, kachinas are represented by costumed dancers. Carved and painted kachina dolls have helped educate Hopi girls about the many different kachinas. Today, such kachinas have become popular with collectors. The song heard here is from a rain dance.
