On December 11, 2000, demonstrators chanted and waved signs in front of the United States Supreme Court building in Washington, D.C. Supporters of both Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush took part in the protests of the presidential election. The Supreme Court was deliberating on whether the hand recount of ballots in Florida should continue.
