Fields Medal

This international prize for achievement in the field of mathematics is awarded every four years by the International Mathematical Union at the International Congress of Mathematicians. The awards recognize both existing work as well as the promise of future achievement and are presented during the year of the congress to mathematicians under the age of 40.
