Temples of an Ancient Kingdom

Temples of an Ancient Kingdom
The tiered towers of Po Klong Garai, Hindu temples built by the Cham in the late 13th century, dominate the landscape from their hilltop site. The ancient kingdom of Champa included the east coast of present-day Vietnam from the Mekong Delta to the 18th parallel. The art and architecture of this ancient civilization, which was destroyed by the Vietnamese in the late 15th century, were strongly influenced by India.
