Siberian Ibex
Capra ibex sibirica This wild goat of the high Himalaya can be found at elevations of up to 5,000 meters (up to 16,404 feet). It roams in herds of 20 to 40 but will mass in groups of 200 or more in prime grazing grounds. The ibex uses its long, broad, knotted horns for jousting and fending off attacks by leopards, wolves, and bears. A male can grow to 130 kilograms (287 pounds).
