Preparing Vostok for Launch
A Vostok capsule took Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova into space in 1963. Tereshkova was the first woman to go into space. Here technicians prepare a Vostok capsule for launch by mounting it in the nose cone of the rocket that will take it into space.
