Eastern Congo Farm
Farm workers hoe a field near Virunga National Park in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Ensuring adequate food supplies for the global population falls in large part on the agricultural industry. Nearly 50 percent of the world’s labor force is employed in agriculture. Among the most important crops in global food production are cereal grains, such as wheat, rice, barley, corn, millet, sorghum, and rye.
