| The Masai culture of East Africa traditionally divides the men into five age and status classes: child, junior warrior, senior warrior, junior elder, and senior elder. Men must serve as warriors, from the beginning of adulthood to about age 30, before they can marry and become elders. The warriors generally live with their mothers and sisters in a camp separate from that of the elders. | ||||||
