During the early part of the 20th century, Mexican artists revived the mural as an art form. The art of mural painting in Mexico reached its peak in the works of Diego Rivera, the most prolific and best-known of the Mexican muralists. This fresco by Rivera, La Civilización Tarasca, depicts indigenous people of Mexico dyeing and decorating fabric.
