Music and poetry are the most important of all Inuit arts. With distinct influences from Asiatic and other indigenous groups, folk tales are eloquently poetic and may describe anything from the beauty of summer to a successful hunt. This example, describing the first hunt of a young man, features typical rhythmic chanting on a basic melody and nonsense syllables in the refrain.
