Eisenhower and Nixon
Dwight Eisenhower (far right) rode to an easy 1952 presidential election victory on his popularity as Allied supreme commander during World War II. Eisenhower’s administration was marked by moderate spending reforms and a quick end to the Korean War. Richard M. Nixon (far left) was his vice president for both terms (1953-1961).
