Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.

Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.
Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. became an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States in 1902 and held the position until 1932. Due to his frequent dissents from the majority’s opinions, Holmes earned the label “the Great Dissenter.” Many of his dissenting opinions formed the basis of later majority rulings.
