SCLC Campaign in Albany, Georgia
In 1961 the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) joined a civil rights campaign to end segregation in Albany, Georgia. Protestors used nonviolent tactics, such as marches and boycotts, to try to force the desegregation of public accommodations. These protestors were later arrested and taken to jail for parading without a permit.
