Coral Colonies

Coral Colonies
Most corals live in colonial associations. Coral colonies can be categorized into six different shapes: massive, encrusting, columnar, branching, laminar, and foliaceous. The growth rates of most coral colonies are exceedingly slow, ranging from 6 to 25 mm (0.24 to 1 in) a year.
