Earl Warren

Earl Warren
Earl Warren served as the 14th chief justice of the United States from 1953 until his retirement in 1969. His decision in Brown v. Board of Education (1954)—his first as chief justice—profoundly affected education in the United States by outlawing segregation in public schools. He argued that segregation denied black students equal protection of the law under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution.
