State Capitol at Saint Paul

State Capitol at Saint Paul
Saint Paul has been the capital of Minnesota since 1849. In that time, the state has had three capitol buildings. The first was destroyed by fire in 1881. State officials outgrew the second and commissioned construction of the present building, shown here; it opened in 1905.
