The Founding of New Sweden

The Founding of New Sweden
Swedish and Finnish colonists, led by Dutchman Peter Minuit, founded New Sweden at the mouth of the Delaware River in 1638. Although New Sweden was soon forcibly annexed by the Dutch colony of New Netherland, many of the original Scandinavian settlers remained in the Delaware region.
