Etna
Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe, measuring 3,323 m (10,902 ft) in the late 1990s. (Its height changes over time.) The slopes of this massive cone-shaped volcano contain over 300 craters and smaller volcanic cones that have formed following numerous eruptions over the last few centuries. An explosive eruption occurred in 2001.
