The Piano Concerto in A Minor (1872) is one of the most enduringly popular works by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. An accomplished pianist, Grieg wrote many lyrical pieces for piano, which he performed himself. Many of his melodies have the warmth and simplicity of folk tunes. This extract is from the first movement of the Piano Concerto.
