Aztec Templo Mayor
Discovered during highly publicized excavations, the ruins of the Aztec Templo Mayor (Great Temple) in Mexico City, Mexico, are among the few surviving remnants of the former Aztec capital of Tenochtitlán. The pyramid structure of the temple, as well as its central location in the city, provides archaeologists with vital information about the importance of religion in Aztec culture.
