Yoruba Divining Board
The use of divining boards is an integral component of many traditional African religions. Traylike in shape, the boards are usually carved of wood and feature an elaborately decorated border. In the Yoruba religion, diviners, people with special insight, use the boards to help determine to which god someone should appeal for guidance or protection. This Yoruba divining board is from Nigeria.
