Hill Testifies at Thomas's Confirmation
The controversy surrounding the confirmation of U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas brought unprecedented attention to the issue of sexual harassment. During hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 1991, law professor Anita Hill testified that Thomas engaged in sexual misconduct when she worked for him at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in the 1980s. Thomas denied the charges and the Senate confirmed his appointment.
