Scott’s Team at the South Pole
British explorer Robert F. Scott reached the South Pole in January 1912, only to discover that Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen had gotten there first. This photograph, along with other photographs and documents, was found with the bodies of Scott and his men, who all died on the return journey.
