Toltec Statues of Tula

Toltec Statues of Tula
These colossal stone figures represent Toltec warriors, each carrying an atlantl (spearthrower) and wearing the Toltec butterfly emblem. About 4.6 m (15 ft) tall, they stand atop a pyramid in the central complex of the Toltec capital of Tula, in central Mexico. The Toltec Empire dominated the region from about ad 900 to 1200.
