Yitzhak Rabin
Yitzhak Rabin was the prime minister of Israel from 1974 to 1977 and from 1992 to 1995. In his second term as prime minister, Rabin negotiated agreements providing for partial Palestinian self-rule in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as a peace agreement between Israel and Jordan. An Israeli student who opposed the peace process assassinated Rabin at a peace rally in 1995. Rabin is shown here speaking at the peace rally just prior to his assassination.
