Red Deer
Distinctive for its reddish coat and large, multibranched antlers, the red deer can be found throughout Europe and Asia. The male deer’s antlers grow from its frontal bones and are covered by a fine-haired skin called velvet. In parts of Asia, the red deer’s antlers are believed to possess medicinal qualities.
