| Ngorongoro Crater is a huge volcanic crater in northern Tanzania. It is 19 km (12 mi) across at its widest, and its walls rise as high as 600 m (2,000 ft). With its abundant permanent water and grasslands, the crater floor attracts large numbers of mammals, including lions, elephants, and rhinoceroses. | ||||||
