Eurasian Golden Plover

Eurasian Golden Plover
Native to the arctic coasts and shores of Europe and Asia, the Eurasian golden plover has a wide migratory pattern. It has been found as far west as Newfoundland and Labrador during the winter months. The plover hunts by standing very still, then running quickly to catch its prey, which consists primarily of small aquatic invertebrates.
