Delaunay’s Eiffel Tower

Delaunay’s Eiffel Tower
French artist Robert Delaunay combined the fragmented forms of cubism with the vivid colors of fauvism. In Eiffel Tower (1910-1911), he depicted the famous Paris landmark from several different viewpoints at once. In combining the sensory experiences of several moments into one image, he sought to reflect the speed and pressure of modern urban life.
