André Kertész’s Chez Mondrian
The photographs of Hungarian-American André Kertész are known for their realistic and sensitive style. Kertész pioneered the use of handheld cameras, thereby paving the way for photojournalism. In 1992 a postcard print of Chez Mondrian (1926) sold for $250,000, a record sum for a single image.
